Pirates have their day in Brigantine’s back bay

Brigantine’s annual Night in Venice boat parade was held Saturday,  Aug. 17.

This year’s theme was “The Pirates of Brigantine,” a nod to Brigantine’s storied past of pirates like Captain Kidd burying his treasures on Brigantine’s dunes.  Skull-and-crossbone flags waved in the evening sky as leisure boats, converted into pirate ships, paraded through the back bay.

Brigantine has held its own “Night in Venice” boat parade annually since 2021. The event was originated and is organized by the Facebook group Real Brigantine.
