In recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and the National Day of Service, Ocean City will launch a food drive to help supply the Ocean City Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard.
The city will collect donations of non-perishable food items, paper and personal care items throughout the week of Jan. 15 to Jan. 20. Anybody who is able to contribute can drop off donations at the City Hall Welcome Center (9th Street entrance at 861 Asbury Avenue) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The National Day of Service honors the life and legacy of Dr. King and encourages all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. For more information, call 609-399-6111.
“Our local Food Cupboard provides vital services to Ocean City residents,” Mayor Jay Gillian said. “In the spirit of Martin Luther King, let’s join together to help take care of our neighbors.”
