Ocean City Farmers Market Open for Business

By Steffen Klenk

The Ocean City Farmers Market has returned for the 2020 summer season. Located on the grounds of Ocean City Tabernacle between 5th & 6th Streets and Asbury Avenue, the market has been ranked as one of the Top 10 Farmers Markets in the state of New Jersey. Here, you’ll find a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, and homemade goods from organic vendors. One will find stands selling fresh deserts of pies, cakes, jelly and peanut butters, breads, spices, fresh apple cider and sometimes even homemade soups.

Let’s not forget about the crafts provided by our local crafters and artists. There are displays of painted scenes on wood, metal yard art to decorate your garden, jewelry, delicate bay blankets, children’s clothes and even fun wide brim hats to shade the eyes from the bright sun.

According to the National Farmers Market Directory, there are approximately 157 farmers markets in New Jersey. Research shows that attending a local farmers market supports not only our community but also offers a healthier alternative and a fun activity for the entire family.

Due to the ongoing health crisis, and for everyone’s safety, visitors will be required to wear a mask.

The Ocean City Farmers Market is open every Wednesday through September 9th from 8am-1pm. To learn more about these and other upcoming events in Ocean City, please visit oceancityvacation.com or call 1-800-BEACH-NJ.
