Last week, we put a spotlight on just a few of the very well-decorated and themed Christmas trees that have been found along our beaches. Within the span of a week, several additional trees have sprouted up along our shores. At 41st Street, beachgoers will find the International Tree of Peace, brought to us by the Salloum family. Visitors are asked to decorate a shell representing all nations of the world. Whether you intend to honor a family member who lives at a distance or celebrate a nation you hold close to your heart, all decorations are welcomed. Guests will find pre-made ornaments and writing material in a spot near the tree, along with a sign directing you in the best direction to take photos.

The Pet Tree can be found at 21st Street.

Pet Tree at 21st Street also made its return this past weekend. This spot along the sand is the perfect place to decorate a shell or leave an ornament to honor the special dog or cat in our lives. Recent posts on Facebook also show a well-decorated tree at 50th Street. Dubbed as the “OCNJ Queens Holiday Tree,” those who plan to visit are encouraged to bring an environmentally friendly decoration, and to support Angels in Motion, a non-profit organization aiding individuals in recovery.
