For consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Manolito Pagay, BSN, RN, of Egg Harbor Township, a nurse in our post-anesthesia care unit (PACU), has been named Shore’s April Employee of the Month.
Pagay has been with Shore Medical Center for 23 years, working in both dialysis and telemetry before transferring to PACU in 2019. In his role, Pagay closely monitors patients recovering from anesthesia after surgery to ensure they are stable. He manages any side effects patients may have, such as pain or nausea, and collaborates with the surgical team to ensure patients are educated and prepared to return home.
Amy Crowthers, BSN, RN, nurse manager of pre-op, PACU and pre-admission testing, says that Pagay is an asset to the PACU department, dedicated to ensuring the team delivers the highest quality of care.
“In times of uncertainty, Manny goes out of his way to make patients and their families feel comfortable. His extensive knowledge base in perioperative care not only makes him an extraordinary PACU nurse but also a valuable resource for our entire department. His daily enthusiasm and positivity make our department brighter and more collaborative.”
