It was a party like no other on Saturday night as Ocean City marked its 70th annual Night in Venice boat parade. Thousands found prime viewing spots along the bayside, some adorning their favorite team’s jersey, for this year’s theme commemorating “70 Years of Champions.” Over 50 themed boats participated in the festivities, many brandishing the colors of Philadelphia’s popular sports teams. The Super Bowl champion Eagles were a clear favorite among paradegoers this year.

The grand marshals this year included a trove of Philadelphia sports icons. Flyers goalie Bernie Parent led the procession, joined by the team’s beloved fluffy, orange mascot, Gritty. Former Eagles wide receiver Vince Papale was also aboard for Saturday’s event, as was former Phillies outfielder and general manager Ruben Amaro Jr.

Also appearing along the parade route were the Miss Night in Venice contestants; Mayor Jay Gillian and his wife, Michele; members of City Council; this year’s Miss Night in Venice Queen, Giuliana Guardascione; Miss New Jersey Belle Nicholas and this year’s Queen Infanta, who will preside over the Baby Parade on Thurs., Aug. 14 at 10:30 a.m. on the boardwalk.

Next year, Night in Venice will mark its 71st anniversary on July 25, 2026. Mark your calendars now, and visit www.ocnj.us/niv for a complete rundown of all of this year’s boat results.
