Event organizers need additional volunteers to assist with the annual Memorial Beach Challenge on Saturday, May 25.
The race is a roughly two-mile obstacle course on soft sand on the beach on both sides of the Ocean City Music Pier. Proceeds from the event benefit The 31 Heroes Project, an organization that specializes in creating programs, financial support systems and future opportunities for service members, veterans and their families. The race begins at 8:05 a.m. at the Music Pier. It also includes a Kids Fun Run.
Volunteer teams start at 5:45 a.m., 7:30 a.m. or 9:45 a.m., and more information on the event and how to volunteer is available at memorialbeachchallenge.com/volunteer.
