For consistently delivering outstanding service and embodying Shore Medical Center’s mission, vision and values, Deepa Patel, MLT(ASCP) has been named Shore’s February Employee of the Month.
Patel is a Medical Laboratory Technologist who analyzes patients’ blood for transfusion compatibility in the Blood Bank, and analyzes various types of patient specimens in the Hematology, Coagulation and Urinalysis departments in the Core Lab. She has worked at Shore in this role since 2019.
Patel’s supervisor, Patricia Pierce, MT(ASCP), says she is knowledgeable, dependable, helpful and kind, and maintains a smile during adversity.
“No matter what the task is, Deepa is ready, willing and able to help, independent of supervisor assistance. She gladly steps in to lead the team in my absence to help her coworkers. Deepa’s attention to great detail, especially in a highly regulated area such as the Blood Bank, has helped save lives,” Pierce said.
Patel lives in Egg Harbor Township and in her spare time, she enjoys henna artistry, traveling and spending time with her husband, Chintan, and her family.
