Pleasantville resident Mary Gelene Briggs celebrated her 100th birthday on Oct. 28, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Pleasantville. A proud mother of three, grandmother of six, great grandmother of 20, and great-great grandmother of six, through the years, Mary worked in the Atlantic City Public School system, in the clothing industry, and on the Atlantic City Boardwalk at the former Playboy Casino. She still enjoys assisting her neighbors in any areas she is able and is known as a caring, sensitive, and loyal friend for many. One of New Jersey’s longest living residents, Mary Briggs is pictured here seated at a table with a proclamation from the City of Pleasantville, NJ, to honor her centennial milestone.
