Harvey Rovinsky, of Bernie Robbins Jewelers, died suddenly on Tuesday

Harvey Rovinsky, born March 8, 1947, passed away on January 28, 2025, after a cardiac event. A Philadelphia native, Harvey was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, incredible friend and a respected leader in the luxury jewelry industry. He is best remembered for his decades of service as the President and Owner of Bernie Robbins Jewelers, a company he and his wife, Madalyn, grew to national prominence.
Harvey’s journey in the jewelry business began as a child, working with his father’s watchmaking business. At the age of 19, he joined Bernie Robbins Jewelers, which was originally founded as an appliance store in downtown Philadelphia by Madalyn’s parents, Bernie and Lorraine Rosenberg. In 1969, Harvey married Madalyn, and together, they built one of the finest reputations in American luxury jewelry, expanding their business across Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Under Harvey’s leadership, Bernie Robbins Jewelers became synonymous with exceptional customer service, unparalleled expertise, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. His commitment to excellence earned him and Madalyn the National Jeweler Retailer Hall of Fame Award in 2022, and Bernie Robbins Jewelers was recognized as a New Jersey Top Workplace by NJ.com, an honor reflecting the company’s outstanding employee engagement.
Harvey and Madalyn were also known for their extraordinary philanthropy. Their work and support for organizations including Chabad at the Shore, the Sara & Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton University, the Friends of the Israeli Defense Force, The Albert Einstein Society at Jefferson Einstein Philadelphia Hospital and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Harvey served on the Executive Board of the Holocaust Resource Center.
As they retired in 2024, Harvey and Madalyn were proud to pass ownership of Bernie Robbins Jewelers debt-free to their management team, ensuring the continuation of the legacy of Bernie and Lorraine Rosenberg and its family-like atmosphere.
Harvey Rovinsky is survived by his loving wife Madalyn (Rosenberg), daughter Julia Rovinsky Rosenzweig (Adam Rosenzweig), granddaughters Sophia and Emma, sister-in-law Susan Stupine, nieces and nephews Erika (Seth Yablonovitz), Jeffrey Stupine (Farah), Bailey and Jay Yablonovitz, and Lilly Stupine.
Memorial services will be held at Joseph Levine and Sons, 4737 E. Street Rd., Trevose on Sunday February 2nd at 2 pm. A livestream will be offered at www.JSGFunerals.com for those unable to attend.
