The Somers Point Arts Commission is presenting Art in the Park on September 14, 2024, from 10am to 4pm at JF Kennedy Park on Broadway overlooking Great Egg Harbor Bay. This day-long event features professional and amateur painters and photographers displaying and selling their works, as well as music, fun activities for children and food/beverages for sale. In addition, a children’s clothesline art exhibit, featuring the work of students from Dawes Avenue School, will be on display. Art in the Park is free and open to the public. Kennedy Park provides handicapped parking.
For artists/photographers who may be interested in displaying, Art in the Park accepts traditional 2-D work in the following categories: Oil/Acrylic, Watercolor, Drawing/Pastels, Hand-Pulled Prints, and Photography. Participation is $40 and interested artists can obtain an application by contacting somersptarts@gmail.com or Donna Mohr at 609-287-0408. All applications must be received by September 13. There will be $1200 in cash prizes awarded.
