Community FoodBank Seeks Volunteers

EGG HARBOR TWP, N.J.— The Community FoodBank of New Jersey—Southern Branch seeks volunteers to support its mission of combatting hunger in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties.

Helpers are needed to work in the organization’s Egg Harbor Township Community Access Pantry, which recently expanded its hours to serve more hungry families. The FoodBank also offers volunteer opportunities in its mobile pantries and in food packing and sorting and office support.

Located at 6735 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township, the FoodBank serves more than 300 partner agencies in a three-county area. In its last fiscal year the organization distributed more than 10 million pounds of food and this year projects it will distribute 14 million pounds.

The Community Food ank  of New Jersey is a member of Feeding America®, provides people across the state with food, help and hope. The FoodBank distributed over 43 million pounds of food last year to its more than 1,000 community partners including pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, mobile pantries, and child and senior feeding programs. More than 4.7 million times a year, someone in need is fed by the FoodBank’s network of partners.
