Colony Club wraps up year with Fashion Show and scholarships

The Colony Club of Ocean City’s annual Fashion Show Dinner, held recently at Greate Bay Country Club, scored an impressive success with 144 tickets sold in support of the club’s scholarship program.

Tina Cortese, Colony Club Scholarship chairman, said four scholarships valued at $3,000 each were awarded to women graduates of Ocean City High School.  Winners of the Ocean City Award were Alexis Allegretto, Julia Keich and Lindsay Tate. The Community Service Award went to Delancy Brogan; the Woman in STEM Award to Lindsay Tate and Nikki Rumaker; and the Written and Performing Arts Award to Kristiana Bauer and Aili Kelley.

A total of 88 raffle baskets were a popular addition to the evening’s activities.

Fashions were modeled by club members from two local boutiques, She’z the Boss and Pete’s Mercantile. Other features of the evening were 88 raffle baskets, two lottery hats and a 50-50. Catherine Ferber was Fashion Show chairman coordinating all aspects of the event.

With the current club year concluded, the Colony Club will resume activities and regular meetings in September on the third Monday of the month. A pool party was held recently as a special summertime activity.

The Colony Club of Ocean City is a volunteer, non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-profit organization dedicated to developing and supporting programs to improve the community. It is a member of the N.J. State Federation of Women’s Clubs. More information is available at colonyclubocnj.com
