Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with Annual Holiday Spectacular

This season, the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company invites you to come celebrate the most wonderful time of the year at their 2022 Holiday Spectacular! The enchanting cast of professional singers and dancers will present a high-energy, family-oriented song and dance tribute to the holidays, directed/choreographed by Brendan Maly. The show is a longstanding tradition that was conceived by Michael Hartman, OCTC’s Founding Artistic Director. Rounding out the production team is Laura Bretherick (Costume Design), Zach Letty (Wig/Hair Design), James Hartman (Set Design), Drew Patti (Music Director), Todd Williams (Lighting Design), and Michael Dress (Audio). 

Professional triple-threat performers from New York City shine in the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company’s Annual Holiday Spectacular Production. 

Through dazzling costumes, familiar songs, special guests, toe-tapping numbers, and special effects, this extravaganza will kindle the holiday spirit in all of us as the magic of the season comes to life in a musical journey through seasonal favorites. This year’s production features new musical numbers, including a Christmas at the beach section, an explosive gospel song, and a Broadway tap winter wonderland finale. 

Catch this family musical revue on December 16 at 7:30 pm, December 17 at 2:00 pm and 7:30 pm and December 18 at 2:00 pm. The production will be held at the historic Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk, with plenty of free parking. Admission cost is $20 for Adults and $18 for Seniors and Kids under 12. Hannah Breed is thrilled to be returning to OCTC this season! Favorite Credits: Lisa (Mamma Mia!), Calliope (Xanadu), Babette (Beauty and the Beast), Mona (Chicago), Annie (Chicago), Emily/Sally (A Christmas Carol), Anybodys (West Side Story). 

Hannah Catanoso has been celebrating OCTC’s 15th season all year long! She has a strong passion for arts education and works frequently with OCTC’s junior company. Some of her directing and choreography credits include Moana Jr., Elf Jr., Shrek Jr., and most recently, Willy Wonka Jr. Hannah works as professor at Philadelphia’s University of Arts in their musical theatre department. She is also a teaching artist and actor at both the Walnut Street Theatre and Kimmel Center. Most recent performance credits include Leading Player (Pippin), Marcy Park (Spelling Bee), Deb (Elf).     

Calvin Cobb Jr. is excited to be back with the GOCTC. Last seen here in GOCTC ‘s The Sound of Music. A few favorite credits include: A Christmas Carol (Scrooge) in three different productions, BTOP’s South Pacific (Captain), and GOCTC’s Crazy for You (Everett Baker). 

Zachary DeBevec is ecstatic to be returning to Ocean City Theatre Company for the holidays! Previous OCTC credits: Swingin’ Into The Holidays, Mamma Mia!, Newsies, A Chorus Line, Beauty and the Beast. Regional: Walnut Street Theatre (Shrek, Young Frankenstein, Legally Blonde, Holiday Inn, Matilda, A Funny Thing…Forum), Arden Theatre Company (Gypsy), Bucks County Center for the Performing Arts (Sweet Charity, South Pacific), The Eagle Theatre (A Chorus Line, Pippin), The Candlelight Theatre (Crazy for You,        Hairspray, Funny Girl, Music Man, Legally Blonde). Jessie del Rio is thrilled to be returning to OCTC for the holidays! Recent credits include: Liesl in The Sound of Music (OCTC), Vanessa in In the Heights (Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre), Missy in Marvelous Wonderettes (Priscilla Beach Theatre) and Jovie in Elf the Musical (La Comedia Dinner Theatre). 

Christopher Hobson is so excited to make his debut in OCTC. Being a minority in the industry he always wanted to be a part of art that can bring about change. He is grateful to be part of a cast so diverse and full of fresh talent. He’s excited to be back performing. Some past roles include Gomez, Crutchie, Paul, and recently Sunny in Emojiland: The Musical.

Mekhi Holloway is very excited to be making his OCTC debut! Recent credits include Blue’s Clues & You Live (nat’l tour), Elf the Musical (Great Plains Theatre Company), Parade (Exit Left Theatre Company) and Spring Awakening(Exit Left Theatre Company). 

Zach Letty is glad to be back at the Music Pier celebrating the season with OCTC! Zach studied at The McCarter Theatre Center (Princeton, NJ) and Wagner College in NYC. Favorites include “The Diva” (Virgin Voyages), “La Cage Aux Folles” (Axelrod Performing Arts Center), “The Music Man” (Derby Dinner Playhouse), “The 25th Annual….Spelling Bee” (OCTC), and “A Chorus Line” (Priscilla Beach Theater).

Carrie McKnight is happy to return to OCTC after being last seen in Sh-Boom! Life Could Be a Dream. As a Maryland native, she grew up singing in the church and has been performing regionally across the country and throughout the DMV area. She currently holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies from Towson University. Her most recent and memorable credits include Ghost (Arizona Broadway Theatre), OCTC’s production of BeehiveLittle Shop of Horrors (Workhouse Arts), and You’re a Good Man, Charlie       Brown (Other Voices Theatre). 

Hadly Patterson is excited to be back & ringing in the Holiday Season with OCTC! You might have seen her in OCTC’s 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in 2021, as well as the TYA Shows – Knuffle Bunny (Trixie) & Stellaluna in 2019. In 2018, she received her BA in Theatre Performance from Wagner College, & is currently residing in NYC, pursuing a career in performance & directing. Most recently she was Asst. Director for 2 youth shows (Cinderella, Little Mermaid) at Forestburgh Playhouse in the Catskills, & Asst. Directed a production of 1984 in NYC. Previous credits include Beehive (Alison u/s) – Walnut Street theatre; Hair (Cassie); Cabaret (Texas); Small Town Story(Kristen), Footloose (Ariel Moore). 

Meet The Creative Team:

Brendan Maly (Director/Choreographer) Brendan is so full of Holiday Cheer that he was given the opportunity to Direct and Choreograph OCTC’s 2022 Holiday Show!  Brendan was last seen in Ocean City Directing OCTC Jr. Company’s production of Zombie Prom this past fall! Brendan has also Directed and Co-Choreographed OCTC Jr. Company’s production of Wedding Singer and The SpongeBob Musical! When not directing/choreographing, Brendan is also a performer! Some OCTC credits include Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka), Mike (A Chorus Line), Lefou (Beauty and The Beast), Big Bad Wolf (The True Story of The Three Little Pigs), and Ensemble (The Sound of Music) just to name a few.  Brendan will be on stage next as Alex the Lion in OCTC’s production of Madagascar the Musical for Ocean City’s First Night! 

Drew J. Patti (Music Director) is thankful for the opportunity to come back and Music Direct for OCTC’s 2022 Holiday Spectacular after recently Music Directing for their production of Sh-Boom! Life Could Be A Dream. Drew was born and raised in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, and is a recent graduate from Wagner College’s Theatre Performance program. Recently, Drew made his Music Directorial debut inboth Cinderella and The Little Mermaid at Forestburgh Playhouse as part of their Forestburgh Academy 2022 Summer Session. Some of Drew’s favorite theatre credits include Pippin (Pippin)in which he was awarded the Hershey Theatre Apollo Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Musical, The Wedding Singer (Robbie Hart), Peter and the Starcatcher (Smee), and Spring Awakening (Georg).
