Boys & Girls Club receives 1,500 lbs. of fish from tournament

The 4th annual Jimmy Johnson’s Atlantic City Quest for the Ring Championship Fishing Week culminated with 1,500 lbs. of fresh fish donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. JJ’s Catch for the Community fillet station, sponsored by Greentree Mortgage Company, L.P., featured donations from the fisherman to the Club that included blue marlin, big eye and yellow fin tuna.

The fresh fish was filleted by Chef Pam Green, Executive Director of Hospitality Initiatives, Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, and Dak Daddy’s Oyster Shack. Chef Green brought the fish back to share with the community and members of the club.

Chef Pam Green spent hours volunteering to fillet the fish so that it could be donated.

“We are immensely thankful to Greentree Mortgage and John and Laura Mirenda for their unwavering support and generosity,” said Brian Little, Acting CEO, Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. “Their partnership, along with the event organizers Todd and Valerie Roy, and the amazing team of the Jimmy Johnson’s Quest for the Ring fishing tournament, the Atlantic City Sports Commission, Hard Rock and Golden Nugget, enables us to distribute the pounds of outstanding filleted tuna and marlin annually to like-minded organizations in our community, making a significant impact.”

Chef Leslie Daniel, Kuro, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino paid a special visit to the Club to show members how to prepare the fish. The kids also made coleslaw and French fries.
