Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City Names Youth of the Year

Antwon Santiago has been named Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City (ACBGC). The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence, and dedication to living a healthy lifestyle. The Youth of the Year program aims to honor high school members who participate in the competition on their path to great futures.

“Antwon is a leader and mentor who stands out among his peers for his dedication and passion in helping others,” said Dr. Charles A. Wallace III, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City. “He is part of the club’s Keystone program, which fosters leadership and community service. Witnessing his evolution and triumphs over time has been truly inspiring; his relentless pursuit of self-actualization serves as a testament to the transformative power of our organization. He often tells club members that the Boys & Girls Club will help you discover who you are and who you want to be.”

Sixteen-year-old Santiago has been a member of ACBGC for the past 11 years. Some of his favorite activities at the club include playing basketball in the gym, creating in the music studio, and participating in social activities in the game room. An Atlantic City High School student, he plans to pursue music and a career in social work.

As Youth of the Year, Antwon will serve as ambassador for the club and will have the opportunity to compete for the state title in May. He will represent the club at a state reception and ceremony at Montclair State University on May 8.
