Atlantic City’s Orange Loop to welcome ‘The Top Hat’ boutique hotel

Groundbreaking planned for early 2025 for Tennessee Avenue mixed-use project

A bold new chapter in Atlantic City’s vibrant Orange Loop district is set to begin with the announcement of The Top Hat at The Orange Loop, a unique mixed-use development that will bring a fresh blend of hospitality and commerce to the area. Slated to break ground in the first quarter of 2025, the project will transform vacant land on Tennessee Avenue into a dynamic new destination that seamlessly integrates cutting-edge design, business opportunities and boutique accommodations.

The Top Hat at The Orange Loop will feature 1,400 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a  boutique hotel-style short-term rental on the upper level. True to its name, the development will be distinguished by a striking Monopoly-inspired design, highlighted by a prominent Top Hat motif. This design not only pays homage to Atlantic City’s iconic board game legacy but also aims to establish The Top Hat as a cultural landmark and must-visit destination.

The boutique short-term rental component will offer six thoughtfully designed bedrooms accommodating up to 12 guests, as well as a rooftop deck that boasts sweeping views of Atlantic City. The commercial space will provide opportunities for local businesses to thrive while fostering greater economic activity within the Orange Loop.

“The Top Hat at The Orange Loop is a game changer for Atlantic City. We’re not just building a structure – we’re creating a space that will serve as a landmark for residents and visitors alike,” said Mark Callazzo,  Managing Partner of RMS Capital and developer and visionary behind the project. “The Orange Loop has come a long way from its ‘Dead Zone’ days, and this project represents the next step in its evolution. It’s about revitalizing the area, supporting local businesses, and offering unique experiences that drive tourism and economic growth. The Top Hat is more than a building; it’s a symbol of Atlantic City’s resilience and innovation.”

The project’s location on Tennessee Avenue places it at the heart of the burgeoning Orange Loop, a dynamic corridor known for its eclectic mix of restaurants, nightlife, and entertainment venues. Since its inception, the Orange Loop has been a beacon of revitalization for Atlantic City, attracting visitors seeking a more local and authentic experience beyond the casino floors.

In addition to attracting tourists with its one-of-a-kind accommodations and design, The Top Hat is expected to significantly benefit the local economy. The distinctive Top Hat motif and vibrant architecture are anticipated to generate increased foot traffic, drawing visitors eager to snap photos and explore nearby establishments. This influx of attention is projected to boost revenue for surrounding businesses while creating job opportunities for the community.

The development is also designed to cater to modern tourism trends, offering concierge services to guests that encourage exploration of Atlantic City’s diverse dining, entertainment, and cultural options both inside and outside of the casino scene.

“Atlantic City is a resilient and diverse community, and this project reflects my belief in its bright future,” added Callazzo. “From supporting local entrepreneurs to providing a unique space for visitors to stay and explore, The Top Hat is about investing in the people and businesses that make Atlantic City such a special place.”

Groundbreaking for The Top Hat at The Orange Loop is anticipated in early 2025, with an expected opening date to follow. This project underscores the ongoing efforts to build upon the momentum of the Orange Loop district, ensuring it remains a cornerstone of Atlantic City’s renaissance.

Along with this project, the growth of Tennessee Avenue continues with the creation of a container park, a transformative project of entertainment and community spaces aimed at further enhancing the vibrancy of Atlantic City. A groundbreaking is expected during the first quarter of 2025.
