Animal Shelter Celebrates Independence Day with Free Adoptions

The Atlantic County Animal Shelter will celebrate Independence Day with a special no-cost adoption promotion, July 1-8, (excluding the July Fourth holiday when the shelter will be closed) for dogs and cats available for immediate adoption.

“Now is the perfect time to give a pet its independence and help it find a caring, forever home,” stated Kathy Kelsey, Animal Shelter Manager.

This special “Independence Day” promotion is in addition to a 50% discount on adoption fees for senior pets and cats available for immediate adoption. Veterans who adopt a pet are also entitled to receive a 50% discount at all times.

Regular adoption fees are $110 for dogs and puppies and $85 for cats and kittens and include mandatory sterilization, age appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Adopted canines also receive two free obedience classes.

If you are considering adding a pet to your family, this is a great time to look at the wonderful animals available at the Atlantic County Animal Shelter. The shelter is open daily, 1-4 pm. It is located at 240 Old Turnpike Road in Pleasantville. Please call (609) 485-2345 for more information or visit atlanticcountynj.gov.
