It looks like Carl Wright, the developer of the Absecon Crossing Retail Center, is finally going to hit it out of the ballpark.
The retail/office center is located on the White Horse Pike at the site of the prior Absecon ballfield. It has been slow moving to date, with only the Firestone Auto Service Center located on the site. Unfortunately the infrastructure has been sitting idle for a long time.
However, that is all about to change.
In the summer of 2023, Chipotle will be a major addition to the center. They will add a welcomed national name to the area that is sure to attract other well-known branded companies.
On the immediate horizon is the White Horse Wine and Spirits store. The plan is to have them occupy approximately 18,000 square feet. It will be a state-of-the-art full-service liquor store.
Finally, Wright said Royal Farms is still committed to locating on a portion of the site.
Overall, Absecon Crossings will be a 40,000-square-foot power neighborhood center, which will be a great complement to Absecon. There is additional retail space and areas for ground leases to create a tremendous synergistic environment. Just wait for 2023 and watch the center unfold.
Other exciting news in Absecon is the addition of three new cannabis businesses.
One of them is going to be located at the former Absecon Hardware at the corner of the White Horse Pike and New Road (450 White Horse Pike). The owner is SNS Land Holdings.
The building is being renovated now. It sat vacant and deteriorating for a long time. Absecon will be going from nuts and bolts to BUDDS.
Just around the corner from the cannabis store, next to the Gokul Indian Supermarket, which is located at 209D South New Road, is going to be a brand new strip center. It is a beautiful new building nearing completion.
It will consist of four stores. It is yet to be determined what stores will be locating there, however with the visibility and synergy that is created by the Indian supermarket, it is all but guaranteed to be a great mix of convenient businesses to service Absecon. It is also located near Holy Spirit School.
Absecon is a wonderful town to start a business. It’s a nice community with the ability to take advantage of the local market and drive-by visitors on their way to Atlantic City.
