The Atlantic County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) will honor Dr. Claudine Keenan as this year’s Woman of Distinction on Saturday April 6, 2024. Dr Keenan, Interim Vice Provost and former Dean of Education at Stockton University, is the Coordinator of Tech Trek, a STEM program/camp for high school girls sponsored by Stockton University and AAUW to foster interest in careers in sciences and engineering. She holds a membership on the New Jersey Board of Education; is a Leader in the NJ Deans of Education Organization; was Inducted into the Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame; and has held various positions at Stockton University from Dean of Education to Chief Planning and Budget Officer.
AAUW- Atlantic County Branch was founded in 1917 by a group of proactive, professional women. They understood that higher education is the key to women achieving equity in the workplace and in society as a whole. The Atlantic County Branch was one of the first in the nation to adopt STEM model programs which include a TechTrek program and summer camp in conjunction with Stockton University. They also promote scholarship programs and community outreach programs geared toward students and young professionals.
