This year’s 42nd Annual Atlantic Cape Community College Restaurant Gala is going Broadway and will feature Hollywood appeal with Cheers and Frasier star Kelsey Grammer representing his Faith American Brewing Company.
The Gala Goes Broadway-themed event will be held on Thursday, March 27 at the Harrah’s Waterfront Conference Center in Atlantic City. The Gala will highlight the excitement, glitz and glamour of New York City’s world-renowned Broadway. The doors open at 6 p.m. with a lavish cocktail reception in the Wildwood Ballroom featuring hors d’oeuvres prepared by the students of the ACA. A formal dinner will follow at 7 p.m. in the ballroom complete with sample signature dishes, desserts and some of the finest libations from more than 50 South Jersey establishments. The 50/50 cash raffle drawing, open bar, photo booth and live musical entertainment will round out the evening’s festivities.
Grammer founded Faith American Brewing Company in 2015. The Margaretville, NY-based company is nestled amidst the mountains of the Catskills in southern New York state. Beverage participants joining Grammer and his Faith American Brewing Company at the Gala will be D&L Coffee Service, Gallo Wine Sales of New Jersey, International Sommelier, LLC., Little Water Distillery, Mamma Bella Cello & Liqueur and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.
Grammer is an Emmy-winning actor, producer, and director with a career spanning over three decades in television, film, and theatre. Grammer has earned six Emmy Awards, three Golden Globes, a SAG Award, and 18 Emmy nominations. He is known around the world for his iconic portrayal of Dr. Frasier Crane, a role he played across Cheers, Frasier, and Wings for over 20 years.
Thirty-two participating restaurants, including long-standing attendees Dock’s Oyster House, Gregory’s Restaurant & Bar, Knife & Fork Inn, Renault Winery & Resort and Smithville Inn, will each serve a delicious culinary selection from their respective menus.
ACA alumnus Kyle Timpson ‘16, who was recently crowned the champion of Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Season 23 (Head Chefs Only), and Tony Beef co-owner Anthony Della Vecchia ’15 will offer a caviar bar with numerous assorted garnishes. Timpson is a Cape May Court House native who graduated from Middle Township High School and attended Cape May County Technical High School for pastry arts.
50/50 cash raffle tickets are still available for $100 per ticket. First prize winner receives 30% of total sales, second prize 15% and third 5%. The winning dollar amount is based upon the total number of raffle tickets sold. All raffle drawings will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. on the evening of the Gala. Winners need not be present to win. Raffle ticket proceeds support an emergency fund for students attending Atlantic Cape, regardless of program of study. The Annual Restaurant Gala, which is highly-regarded as the premier food and beverage fundraising event in the Atlantic City area, annually attracts 1,000 community and business leaders, government officials, food enthusiasts and friends of the college. Since its inception in 1984, the Restaurant Gala has raised more than $4.3 million for scholarships benefiting students attending the Academy of Culinary Arts, a student emergency fund and Atlantic Cape Community College Foundation operations.
