AtlantiCare’s Medical Arts Pavilion in Atlantic City

On Tuesday, November 15, AtlantiCare held a ceremonial ribbon cutting for its new Medical Arts Pavilion. The $38.3 million facility is all-new construction the regional healthcare system specifically developed to enhance access to quality care for the Atlantic City community. It is one of the many ways the organization is increasing access to care by, among other strategies, addressing health disparities, social determinants of health and the national physician shortage. The facility will also be the new home base of AtlantiCare’s Medical Education Program

The day-long celebration included tours for AtlantiCare staff and local, state and federal leaders, a reception for dozens of artists from throughout New Jersey who contributed to the 220 original works installed throughout the building, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Medical Arts Pavilion and the services AtlantiCare will offer there—including its Maternal Fetal Medicine, Family Planning and Safe Beginnings program and Federally Qualified Health Center pediatrics, family medicine teaching, and dental clinics, and more—demonstrate AtlantiCare’s strong investment in establishing communitywide health equity and training new-generation physicians.

AtlantiCare anticipates opening the Medical Arts Pavilion to patients in December, pending final approvals from the New Jersey Department of Health. AtlantiCare’s Medical Arts Pavilion is located at 7 South Ohio Avenue in Atlantic City—and stands on the same block on which AtlantiCare opened as Atlantic City Hospital 124 years ago.

This is a special day in the history of AtlantiCare where we recommit the purpose and the meaning of being all in in Atlantic City,” said Lori Herndon, MBA, BSN, RN, president and CEO of AtlantiCare. “I am so proud we are opening the Medical Arts Pavilion right here where the hospital was first born. This is the place where care is going to make a difference and healing is going to make an impact every day.
