Windjammer rolls out the red carpet for Veterans
Susan and Ellen asked for a small favor and got a whole lot more. Susan Anderson, president of the Cardiff VFW auxiliary and Ellen Rush, wife of the late John Rush, Commander of the Egg Harbor Township VFW went into the Windjammer in Somers Point about three weeks ago. They were hoping for a pie donation towards the VFW Annual Holiday party that they host for the veterans.
Not only did they receive that pie donation, but when owners Jinny and Steve Tiniakos heard about it, they extended an invitation for the veterans to come to the restaurant for a holiday meal at no cost.
On December 11th, Veterans from Meadowview Rehabilitation Center weretransported to the Windjammer where they were treated to a holiday meal, andgifts along with a visit from Santa himself.
