Hamilton Township Business Park is strategically located to service most of South Jersey. Activity has surged recently with the increased demand in the warehouse market. Most of the vacant land is currently under agreement. The intention is to develop several hundreds of thousands of square feet of space to meet the new demand. In addition, there is another developer who intends to create a new facility which will cultivate marijuana.

Other exciting news in the park is the Atlantic County Institute of Technology plan for a substantial expansion of 133,000 square feet to accommodate an additional 450 students.

Hamilton Business Park

The Hamilton Township Committee will vote soon to establish an Economic Development Commission to oversee the opportunities for development throughout the Township. It will replace the Hamilton Industrial Commission said Charles Pritchard.

Moving over to the scenic Egg Harbor River is the Historic Inn at Sugar Hill. The Inn is not new; it was built in 1846. What is new are the owners Wendy and Victor Fabetti who have been involved in many businesses. They purchased the Inn in June of 2021. Wendy met Chef Israel Izzy Rodriguez in 2020. She fell in love with the Inn and its quaint character. Did I mention the fantastic river front location? She wanted to give Chef Izzy the opportunity to showcase his talents. It features casual dining on the deck where the customers can watch the sunset or come inside and enjoy Izzy’s Steak and Seafood. You might have noticed a new building which is almost complete located at the intersection Rt 40 and Rt 322 across from the Hamilton Mall. ( 4436 Blackhorse Pike) The property was vacant for many years. It is now going to be a 3000 Square foot medical marijuana retail facility. Columbia Care is a national recognized company.

The Inn at Sugar Hill

The Hamilton Mall is in a phase of transition. With several businesses that have vacated, it is a time that the owners and marketers must get creative to fill the vacancies of the former Sears, JC Penny, and many other stores. Many other malls throughout the country have repositioned real estate assets to meet the shifting demand which is going away from the traditional mall retail. Stay tuned maybe we will see residential, entertainment or some other creative use. Who knows, but doing nothing is not an answer.
