No one should be mad at New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy in the slightest least!
You can certainly disagree with his radical philosophy of governance. I do. But, you shouldn’t be mad at him.
The reason? He is simply keeping the radical promises that he made on the campaign trail. He is merely keeping his word. In case you didn’t know, or, have forgotten, Governor Murphy promised the following:
1. That he would massively raise taxes and user fees. He’s doing it.
2. He promised to make New Jersey a “Sanctuary State.” He has now realized this with a formal directive that will be the heart of this column.
3. He promised assistance for illegals to be able to stay in New Jersey. The first $ 2.1 million installment has been fully taxpayer funded. This will provide free legal representation for illegals, who shouldn’t be in our Country/or state in the first place. It’s outrageous that hard-working taxpayer dollars are being abused in this fashion.
4. Fully fund schools, which will cost another $ 1.3 billion in new taxes.
5. Legalize recreational marijuana use. This might raise $ 300 million annually in new revenue. However, the loss in productivity, student drop-out rates, an increase in driving under the influence and other social ills is always the end result.
6. Fully fund public pensions. This will cost another $ 6.3 billion. Our entire state budget is currently $ 34.7 billion.
7. Free Community College … representing another $ 200 million.
8. Raise the minimum wage to $ 15. Effective, January 1, 2019 it will be $ 8.60 per-hour. This has failed everywhere it’s ever been tried.
9. Restore the millionaires tax. This will cause record wealth flight. New Jersey is already presently the # 1 state in the nation in terms of residents leaving their state. This style of socialist policy only works on paper. In practice, it always results in abject failure.
10. Close tax benefits, that the socialist democrats call “tax loopholes.” Radical states like New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts have already done this. It causes more people to leave states where these kinds of regressive and punitive tax policies are enacted. It punishes success. It hurts employees at all levels.
11. Murphy wants to reverse Governor Chris Christie’s gun laws. This the typical, liberal assault on the Constitutional right to bear arms.
12. A mandate for earned sick leave. This is … er … sick! Employees (part-time and otherwise) will earn one hour of guaranteed paid time off for every 30 hours worked. It’s unaffordable and will costs jobs, and, not help workers.
13. Rejoin the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative. It’s a cap and trade scam that Governor Christie pulled us out of. It was ineffective and a significant tax on business.
14. Automatic voter registration. This sounds wonderful and so democratic. Yet, in reality, it will only lead to more voter fraud. People who have no intention to vote will result in “others” illegally voting for them. The Vote by mail phenomena literally changed the results of 10-15 Congressional House races in 2018. The Democrats won each one of the flips. Coincidence? You decide.
This list is not complete. There’s more bad news coming. All of these priorities outlined above are radical and out of the mainstream of American thinking. However, in progressive states like California and New Jersey, we are governed by a radical, fringe ideology that ultimately destroys the state.
It does, however, ensure a Democratic majority, because it is so intoxicating to believe that being given free stuff is possible. The truth is that “free” is very expensive and it ultimately leads to ruination.
It’s unsustainable. You simply run out of other people’s money to pay for the redistribution of others hard work to those “winners” that the socialist democrats choose.
Regarding New Jersey now officially being a Sanctuary State. This is disgusting and dangerous. For those who don’t know what Governor Murphy did. Here are the undisputed facts.
It’s official. New Jersey is now a “Sanctuary State.” Governor Murphy instructed New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal to issue “Directive 2018-6 – the Immigrant Trust Directive.”
New Jersey police officers at the state, county and local levels are now restricted regarding the enforcement of federal immigration laws. Get ready, because these restrictions are going to be very difficult for you to believe that this could have happened in our state:
New Jersey Police Officers “cannot stop, question, arrest, search, or detain any individual based solely on actual or suspected immigration status.” Let me translate … even if a police officer knows that some one is in New Jersey illegally, they are prohibited from taking corrective action. This is sick!
New Jersey Police Officers “cannot participate in civil immigration enforcement operations conducted by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).” As bad as this is, it gets even worse.
New Jersey Police Officers “cannot provide ICE with access to state or local law enforcement resources, including equipment, office space, databases, or property, unless those resources are readily available to the public.” They had to add the last sentence because ICE members are members of the public … so they could place restrictions beyond that of the public.
This policy is purposefully designed to hinder the very important work of ICE. Collaboration is always a key to conduct the best police work. This radical directive has been put in place to help illegals stay here illegally.
This policy directly assists the most violent and dangerous illegal aliens to remain here, with the direct assistance of the Murphy Administration. Directives or laws such as this should be a criminal offense.
We’ve already endured in New Jersey the direct result of this kind of radical policy leading to a violent illegal alien being released; who went on to commit a multiple homicide.
The rationale behind this from the radical Murphy Administration perspective is that “We cannot allow the line between our law enforcement officers and U.S. immigration officials – or the line between state criminal law and federal civil immigration law – top become blurred,” said Veronica Allende, the director of the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice.
This is outrageous and it’s dangerous. Make no mistake about it; New Jersey has just been made a much less safe state because of Governor Murphy’s gambit to pander to the phony national democrat party agenda to support illegals in favor of American citizens.
Their sick agenda is for illegals to soon become democrat voters in American elections. Illegals are already voting in California; something that California government officials said would never happen.
The truth is … This was their plan all along. Here in New Jersey, we are now on our way!
