Once upon a time I believed that any community work should be done in private and very quiet. I will never forget speaking with Pinky Kravitz almost 10 years ago at a Christmas party and asking him about the bobble head he gifted me. Pinky went on to explain how the best perk of his celebrity was encouraging others to help him help the cancer society. That following Christmas WE (“we” meaning friends and family, readers and listeners) started our Annual Alternative Soul Holiday Drive. The drive has grown as the needs have grown and the community has made it a success and I thank you all.

This year’s drive will come to an end on Sunday December 22nd with our Second Annual DJ’s Against Hunger event. This year’s line up includes DJ Dramadik, DJ Swoosh, DJ Fah D, DJ Flair, and myself. As well the DJ’s we will have special performances by the hip hop group Love Me No More and the poetry Nettie Long. It will be an afternoon of dancing, mingling, and fun for a great cause.

I also am glad to say Laura Seeman will again dress as Mrs. Claus and hand out toys to any children/families that attend or are in need.

The Alternative Soul Holiday Drive has again been a great success for all of us.

Thanks once again.

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!
