How can it be mid August already?! In usual summer fashion, this summer has flown by too quickly. College semesters have begun and elementary aged children are preparing to head back to the classroom.
With just a few final weeks of August before us, we still have much to look forward to. The annual Atlantic City Airshow will take over the city from the sand to the clouds on August 20th and 21st. This legendary event brings tens of thousands of spectators to our area and continues to grow with every passing year. Check out some of the highlights and schedule of events on page 24.
The Greater Atlantic City Chamber, in conjunction with Casino Reinvestment Development Authority, Caesars Atlantic City and Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, Veterans Service Organizations, Department of Veterans Affairs, and local veterans have formed Veterans Resource Row on Missouri Avenue and the Boardwalk on August 20 -21st during the Air Show. Learn more about this Veteran’s resource area on page 24 and share the information with a veteran in your life.
Summer brings so many great events and they are not slowing down yet. Concerts in the park, beach concerts, farmer’s markets, world renowned dining & entertainment opportunities, warm waves and sunshine keep us enjoying every last bit of summer!
August also brings sunflower fields in full bloom. My favorite Sunflower field is in the Petersburg section of Upper Township. For over 20 years, it has been a family tradition of ours to go purchase our $0.50 sunflowers that were lovingly grown by a local New Jersey farmer. Read more about this magical place on page 6-7.
