Somers Point Rotary Launches Safety Program

The Rotary Club of Somers Point has long supported the community through a range of service projects. This year, Somers Point Rotary is teaming up with the local first responders regarding a child passenger safety awareness program known as W.H.A.L.E. (We Have A Little Emergency). The W.H.A.L.E. program is an identification and information package for child car safety seats. The program was created by Connie Day, a caregiver from Richmond, VA and is now a national program.

The W.H.A.L.E. kit includes four self-adhesive stickers and one informational label. The stickers are placed on the child safety seats and can be referenced in the event of a motor vehicle accident. This program provides valuable information to first responders in the event children become separated from their parents or guardians following an accident.

W.H.A.L.E. kits are available through the Rotary Club of Somers Point. For more information, contact Dave Blyler at 609-432-5347 or in person at The Doc’s Place, 646 Bay Avenue, Somers Point, NJ 08244.
