Sheriff Scheffler Promotes Two Officers

Atlantic County Sheriff Eric Scheffler is pleased to announce the promotion of two officers.  On November 4, 2019, Sergeant William Brennan was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and Officer Joseph Thibault was promoted to the rank of sergeant.  

Brennan, age 36, has been with the office since January 2008.  He began his career as an officer in the Courts and Transportation Unit and was eventually assigned to the Warrants Division as a detective.  In 2016 he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and remained in the Warrants Division supervising the evening shift.  

He resides in Mullica Hill with his wife and son.  

Thibault, age 43, joined the Sheriff’s Office in July of 2009.  He also began his career in Courts and Transportation where he spent several years.  He was subsequently assigned to the Atlantic County Institute of Technology serving as the School Resource Officer for the past five years.  He resides in Hammonton with his wife, son and daughter. 

Sheriff Scheffler could not praise the officers enough.  He said they are loyal, trustworthy, hardworking and have a genuine concern for the agency, County and community.  Scheffler continued by saying “they will be excellent supervisors and he could not prouder of them.”
