Seashore Gardens Virtual 5K/7K Run and Health Walk Raises $10,000 for Alzheimer’s Support

SGLC Board Member Adrienne Beinfest and friend took a walk around their neighborhood as part of the Seashore Gardens 5K/7K Run and Health Walk.

Supporters rallied on social media and in their own backyards to support the 10 th annual Seashore Gardens 5K/7K Run and Health Walk held virtually on April 19, 2020. The event raised $10,000 for Alzheimer’s and dementia outreach services, and the Sensory Trail and Healing Garden in the Comfort Care Courtyard at Seashore Gardens Living Center (SGLC).
“This was an incredibly special year,” said Sharon D’Angio, director of Donor Services and Public Relations, SGLC. “Not only was it our tenth year but we couldn’t be together to run and walk for our loved ones. That didn’t stop our dedicated supporters who truly went the extra mile to help ensure that these services continue. They are needed more than ever.”
The 5K/7K Run and Health Walk is the primary fundraiser for these programs, which include monthly support groups for families of loved ones with Alzheimer’s, as well as case management services.

Next year’s 5K/7K Run and Health Walk is scheduled for Sunday, April 25, 2021, on the Atlantic City Boardwalk outside of the Tropicana.
