Award Winning Michelle Tomko Hosts Open Mic Night at Bourre Every Other Tuesday.

If you know anything about Atlantic City, it’s that the city knows how to have a good time. Between its incredible restaurants, world class entertainment, exciting casinos, beautiful beaches and lively bars, Atlantic City truly offers something arousing for all of its visitors. Okay, so maybe Atlantic City didn’t invent fun, but they have totally mastered it, and one of everyone’s favorite ways to blow off steam and have an amazing time is by laughing our butts off. Yes, it’s true, Atlantic City is home to dozens of live shows and entertainment, and while you can’t go wrong with any of those acts, its time you learned about one of the very best comedy/variety shows in the city.
Every other Tuesday at 8 pm, our city’s own Michelle Tomko hosts open mic night at the hugely popular Bourré. Located at 201 South New York Avenue in the Orange Loop, Bourré transforms an old gentlemen’s club to an industrial New Orleans themed pub. Bourré is committed to supporting local talent and Tomko is a local veteran comedian and actress whose unique style of comedy has packed houses all over the country. Having recently received her 4th consecutive Atlantic City Weekly Nightlife Award for Best Comedian, Tomko knows exactly what it takes to get her audience rolling on the floor with laughter. Don’t be surprised if she singles you out to be part of the show as well. Tomko is known for her sharp wit and quick tongue and no one is safe from a little friendly roasting.
Tomko’s open mic night at Bourré showcases our areas unique variety of local talent. Open mic night is not limited to just comedy, and that’s the beauty of this show, no two acts are alike and you never know what to expect. There is always an element of surprise and awe as you watch local talent wow you with their skills. Don’t be surprised if in one night you get to see Singers, Dancers, Magicians, and Mimes and the next night beatboxing, impersonations, comedy and fire eaters. Anything goes in this unique show that is rapidly gaining cult popularity. “We really enjoy getting a large group together and heading out to Bourré for open mic night. We love to take advantage of the affordable drinks and eats, and awesome entertainment, it’s really the perfect night out.” says Rachel from Mays Landing.
It gets even better. Every other Tuesday is not just open mic night, but happy hour all night long. Bourré offers unbeatable happy hour specials till closing time. For example, you will enjoy $1 off ALL draft beers, $4 Glasses of Sycamore Lane Wines, $5 House Mixed Drinks, $6 Frozen Hurricanes and $5 Bites. In addition, there is no cover charge to get in and enjoy this fantastic evening filled with incredible entertainment, affordable drinks and eats, and a whole load of fun. Parking is also free in the lot on St. James Place. Once parked, you can easily enter through the patio gate.
Are you a performer who would love to get in on this, then come out and show your stuff! Several acts have already caught the eye of Bourré management which resulted in being cast in guest spots and future paid gigs. Each performer is given 5 minutes to wow the audience, with more time given if available. Sign up starts at 7pm before the show. Whether your unique talent is reciting the alphabet while drinking water, juggling while moonwalking, or cracking the audience up with your comedy, open mic night at Bourré has a spot waiting just for you.
If you are like so many of us, you can’t get enough of Michelle Tomko and her comedy. No worries there, Tomko also puts on Comedy Carnival one weekend a month at Bourré to a packed house and produces a drag brunch one Sunday a month. There’s no cover for either show.
