Northfield Honors Its Wounded Veterans

Northfield came together May 21 to dedicate Purple Heart Path in honor of military personnel from Northfield who were wounded while serving and defending their country.

The landscaped walking path at Northfield Veterans Park was created with assistance from students at the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, who designed and installed the landscaping and created the sign.

In addition to a sign unveiling and presenting of the colors by Boy Scouts from Troop No. 389 at the Atlantic Christian School, General George Washington, as portrayed by Sam Davis, gave the history of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.

Mayor Erland Chau presided over the ceremony.
