The Miss New Jersey Education Foundation is please to announce our final competition, with preliminary competitions, Thursday, June 15 and Friday June 16, with our FINAL COMPETITION SATURDAY, JUNE 17 in the SuperStar Theatre at Resorts Casino Hotel. All evening events begin at 8pm promptly. Additionally, our MISS NEW JERSEY TEEN Final Competition is also at Resorts Casino Hotel on Saturday, June 17, 1pm.
WE ARE CELEBRATING MISS NEW JERSEY 9O YEARS, since Miss New Jersey began. And the parent organization, Miss America Opportunity(New name of the Miss America Organization is over 100 years old, and our Miss New Jersey winner will compete for Miss America representing our state, New Jersey.
What is the Miss America Opportunity? The public perception of Miss America is often that it’s a one-night telecast, but in reality it’s so much more. This unique opportunity is a year-round program of “Style, Service, Scholarship and Success” – representing the four points of the Miss America crown. Participants acquire life long skills while earning scholarships, meet other like-minded women, cultivate their own personal style, and engage within their communities.
The Competition Evolves. Miss America has a 100-year history of looking ahead. The competition’s inception as a “bathing beauty review” was an act of rebellion during a time when women weren’t permitted to wear swimsuits in public. In 1945, the organization started awarding scholarships to the winner instead of prize money, making Miss America one of the first organizations in the United States to offer college scholarships to women. In the 80s, Miss America Organization officially made community service a pillar of the program, helping to raise awareness, and millions of dollars, for worthy causes.
Miss New Jersey Vision: There she is. Miss Neurosurgeon, Miss Social Activist, Miss Jet Pilot, Miss Investigative Journalist, Miss Expert Coder, Miss CEO… Miss Whatever-She-Was-Created-To-Be. And yes, she is beautiful. Beautiful in the way she is smart, principled and passionate. Stunning in how she leads, commands a room and makes an impact. Striking in her genuineness, fearlessness and ability to take her influence and use it to impact the world. Never guided in what society deems she ‘should do’ but forever driven by what she ‘can do’. She has the confidence and skills, and is empowered to make it happen. There she is. Miss New Jersey. No wonder she has a crown. She Rules.
Miss New Jersey is the most visible external facing representative of the mission of the Miss New Jersey Education Foundation program to the public. As a member of the MNJ team, she is responsible for positively advancing the goals and objectives of MNJ as well as her own Social Impact Initiative. The State, Miss New Jersey Education Foundation and the National Miss America Organization ha scholarship programs as well as competitions, as the final winner, Miss New Jersey will go on to represent our State of New Jersey in the Miss America Competition a National Competition with candidates from all states. When Miss America was founded, its goal was to invest in the careers and lives of women, as which Miss New Jersey follows.
