Memorials to Visit

Wildwoods’ Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Wall, the only permanent Vietnam Memorial replica in the Northeast, is an exact, half-size, black granite replica of the official Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It has the 58,913 names of our country’s fallen heroes from the Vietnam War etched on its panels and stretches for 240 feet. It is located at Fox Park adjacent to the Wildwoods Convention Center at 4500 Ocean Drive.
The Submarine Veterans Memorial was dedicated on April 11, 2015 in honor of the brave men of the U.S. Submarine Force, as well as, all veterans of today’s military. It is located at 502 Bethel Rd. Somers Point.
Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum is housed inside Hangar #1 at the Cape May Airport. The site was formerly a Naval Aviation base during World War II. The Aviation Museum is open year-round and boasts over 26 aircraft displays as well as military memorabilia, engines, photographs, interactive exhibits and more. The World War II Lookout Tower is New Jersey’s last remaining restorable World War II tower, part of the immense Harbor Defense of the Delaware system that played a major part in coastal defenses. Built in 1942, the tower was one of 15 towers that helped aim batteries of coastal artillery. It is located on the Delaware Bay on Sunset Blvd. in Cape May.
