Stainton’s launches community event

Stainton’s offers a collection of more than 70 distinctive shops, each offering an array of unusual and unique merchandise. Many items are one of a kind.  Browsing our floor, you’ll find a variety of merchant displays including jewelry, candles, art, apparel, furnishings, pottery, toys, children’s apparel, collectibles and more.

We just had banners made that state, Shopping Small Supports Big Dreams…When you buy from a small business, you are helping a child get dance lessons, a mom and dad put food on the table, a family pay a mortgage, or a student pay for college.”  This couldn’t be more true than here at Staintons.   We are no longer that big department store.

Quoting Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”   We are a family here at Staintons, each supporting one another, helping each other succeed.  We want everyone who walks in the door to feel like family as well.  I, myself,  have been in retail over 20 years and I feel the true key to a successful business comes down to treating everyone like a guest in my home, greeted with a warm welcome, some help while they’re here and a great big thank you, come again on their way out the door!

We are also helping to support the community.  Since May we have partnered with a different organization each month, taking donations at the registers and promoting each organization through our website and social media outlets.  We have donated to The Randles Boys Foundation, Heart of Surfing and will be partnering with the local Police and Fire Departments through the holidays.  We love being able to give back to the community that supports us all year long.

This year we are also starting, “Wishlist Wednesday’s.”  You can bring the whole family out on Wednesday nights from 5-8 to fill out individual Wish lists.  You can than leave them with us and we will file them away for friends and family, Maybe even Santa, to come back and pick out something you would like.  We have partnered with Wards Pastry and Ocean City Coffee Co., who will be providing treats and refreshments.  We would eventually like for everyone in Downtown Ocean City to participate and make this a destination for holiday shopping.
