It’s summertime and that means great jersey shore rock ‘n’ roll, classic rock and the best roots rock, rhythm and blues in the world today as Tony Mart Presents Mardi Gras AC every Wednesday night now through September 4, 2019 at Kennedy Plaza on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
On July 3 experience “The Music that Made Tony Mart’s Famous“ the greatest hits by the biggest stars that ever played at Tony Mart’s from Bill Haley to Levon Helm and The Band and Eddie and the Cruisers. The evening will star the original saxophone player in “Eddie and the Cruisers”, Michael “Tunes“ Antunes, in a tribute to the music of the classic movie as performed by Tunes’ band, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. In tribute to the late great Fats Domino, the New Orleans sounds that came to Bay Avenue in Somers Point will be celebrated by Fats Domino’s guitarist and Atlantic City resident, Teddy Royal in a tribute to the Fatman with the Tony Mart Allstars.
On Wednesday, July 10 it will be “Midnight at the Oasis“ on the Boardwalk when 4 time Grammy nominated, gold record recording artist, Maria Muldaur, sings her classic hit record and New Orleans traditional music, blues, folk rock and the world-class roots music that has earned her multiple Grammy nominations, great popularity and respect for over 50 years as an entertainer. This is a classic diva who rarely appears in South Jersey. This night will be another music festival with two concerts as one of the greatest harmonica players in the world, as Rick Estrin also performs with his Nightcats doing everything from jump swing West Coast blues to surf music and some of the funniest roots rock songs ever recorded featuring both the world-class harmonica of Rick Estrin and the guitar of Kid Anderson who will call the spirit of Dick Dale back to this Surfside venue in Atlantic City.
All shows start at 7 o’clock and will be performed inside the Showboat Hotel if the weather does not permit the beautiful Kennedy Plaza venue to light up with the greatest free concerts of the summer.
