Last Minute Gift Ideas for Every Kind of Dad

By Holly Martin

Father’s Day is upon us! But what do you get the man that may have just about everything? Thankfully, dads tend to love any gift we give them. Don’t forget grandpop and the other special dads in your life. Here is a last minute gift idea list that will be sure to put a smile on his face.

Food! You can never go wrong with getting a food gift. This is a broad topic because you do have some options! You can make a gift basket full of jerky, hot sauce, maybe some crackers and chips. If you have a grilling dad, our local grocery stores have been having sales on grilling essentials and meats.

Fishing or hunting essentials. Get dad some more fishing hooks or a new rod and reel! They love their hobby, and you can never have too many tackle boxes!

Tools. Growing up, I knew to call my Godfather any time I needed a bike put together. A new tool may be the perfect gift for the Handy Dad in your family.

A new watch. We all have phones and maybe a $10 watch that we rely on for the time. This year, get dad a reliable watch that can withstand water, shock, dirt, and well day to day life. After my recent visit to Sage Jewelers, I noticed their wide variety of watches from Tissot to G Shock. Each watch has their perks, but most of all, dad will never be late again!

Subscription Boxes. Subscription Boxes have grown over the past year, and I think there is a box for everything. Your options are endless. Stitch Fix offers clothes that a designer will hand select. Craft Beer Club will send you different beers from different breweries from all over the US. Kickass Beef Jerky sends, you guessed it, Beef Jerky every month! This option allows you to give a gift that keeps on giving!

YETI brand mugs and coolers. I swear by the YETI brand. Available at Dicks Sporting Goods, 7th St Surf Shop, and most sports specialty stores. Dad’s cooler will stay colder longer, and he’ll never have a warm beverage ever again.

Personalized gifts like photos, canvases, blankets, and more. Though getting something personalized may take longer than a couple of days, I have used Walamart personalized gifts many times over the years. You can design a blanket with a collage of pictures. I have had a puzzle made, and when it is completed it is a picture from a special moment in our lives. If you have the extra time, personalized gifts are worth the wait.

Shaving kits. If you have to shave, there is no such thing as too many razors. There’s nothing like a nice clean shave. Shaving cream, gel, razors, and after shave are essentials for our shaving dads.

Beard care kit. If your dad has a beard he is proud of, then help him take care of it with a beard care kit! These kits come with conditioners that help with beard health as well as the skin on your cheeks and chin. No more itchy and dry skin!

Work out equipment. Dad needs to keep in shape. Kettlebells and other work out equipment can be a perfect addition to your dad’s man cave.

Happy Father’s Day to all of our Shore Local Dads!
