Gift Giving Guide

The 2020 Light with Raymond Tyler

This year 2020…I do not have the language. I do, but that type of language is not printed in a magazine like Shore Local. Still it’s the Holiday Season and even if metaphorically all we have to eat is fruit cake it’s the only Holiday Season we get for another 300 days or so.

So it is with as much “Comfort and Joy” as I can muster that I present my 2020 Gift Giving Guide.

Trim up The Tree- Holiday decorations from The Arc Makes Cents, too! Thrift Shop. 3033 English Creek Ave, EHT

I like this tip for bachelors, people without children, or anyone that wants to be festive without burning through a whole lot of finances.  The Thrift Shop has lots of holiday decorations including collectibles at 50% off. Also if you have someone on your list that might want a vintage toy? Stop by and check out their selection.

The Spirits Of Christmas Present(s)

Circle Liquor Store located at the base of the Ninth Street bridge in Somers Point.

If you made a resolution to drink less this year? Don’t feel bad. This was no normal year. Nothing says “Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and indefinite quarantine” like a gift basket of your favorite wine and spirits. The good people of Circle Liquor will put together a holiday basket of you or your loved ones favorite adult beverages.

SurfIng , USA- Heritage Surf and Sport. Since 1962 (that’s before Greg Brady wiped out in Hawaii because of the taboo) Heritage Surf and Sport has been the hub for surfers at the shore. Heritage can equip you with boards, lessons and what you need to wear for traditional beach surfing or skateboarding on a city street. If you go to the beach? Look for me in the Heritage hoodie telling stories about how I used to surf back in the 70’s until I wiped out and got this surfing injury.

Your Show Of Shows-Rubbing Elbows with David Spatz-Unfortunately seeing a live show is not an option. However, if it was I would need 2 front row tickets for David Spatz’ show Rubbing Elbows. I know it’s going to be a WHOOT because I worked with Spatz at The AC Weekly for years so we traded stories during that time. David is a classy gentleman but for your sake, I hope he forgets that as he serves tea on the many personalities he’s met covering the entertainment scene in Atlantic City all these many years.

I wish everyone a happy holiday but I am willing to now trade peace on earth for a decent summer. Enjoy everyone.
