Free Media Publishers Proud to be Partners in Growth

A rising tide lifts all boats and we are rising, my friends.

The outlook couldn’t be better for the summer season ahead. And if Memorial Day weekend is any indication, even the weather is on our side.

Southern New Jersey was hit hard during the economic downturn and it has been a slow “bounce back,” facing an onslaught of what felt like endless challenges. In 2018, our tide began to change as positive growth was seen and felt at every turn. As we journey into the summer of 2019, it seems as though the good news isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

I recently participated on a panel called “Meet the Free Media” for the Greater Atlantic City Public Relations Council. I was seated between two other media publishers and fielded questions moderated by a third.

All four of these publishers could view one another as rivals. But the beautiful thing is that we are all partners and friends, each wanting to see the other succeed. All four are more concerned with championing for the community that we love. We want growth and success for all.

Regardless of whether you are in the media or in any other market, collaboration, cooperation and building bridges are critical components to that proverbial rising tide. We at Shore Local are proud to continually build relationships and partnerships to best serve our sponsors, readers and community.

Shore Local  is excited to be launching a new partnership with BreakingAC, a reputable  online community news source founded and published by Lynda Cohen.

Beginning with this issue, Shore Local will have a BreakingAC insert that will put in print the news that many get online.

Readers will be able to see BreakingAC content in print within Shore Local, and Shore Local articles and content on BreakingAC.com, Atlantic County’s leading online news source. An official announcement was made on Shore Local’s radio show Saturday May 26th.

No one would argue that print media is a changing industry. We believe strongly that there is and always will be great value in print. I see it every week when a proud family member sees their loved one in print and wants extra copies, or when I hear the disappointment in their voice when I have to tell them that their story only ran online. I experienced it myself when my daughter in college sent me a link to a story that featured her achievements. Being able to hold a tangible record of her success, selecting a frame for the article, and grabbing extra copies for my family really took my motherly pride to exciting heights.

No one can deny that the days of getting our daily news from a newspaper each morning are long gone. We have a multitude of choices now: digital, podcast, radio, television, social media, just to name a few. But locally focused print, in partnership with online digital content and marketing, is still necessary to remain relevant.

Together we are better.

Collaboration and partnerships in the community mean a great deal, along with intent. We love this community, our sponsors and readers. We have lived here for decades, grown deep roots and raised our families here. Our columnists are people that live here in our community, names you know and trust. We take pride in building partnerships, being relevant and presenting you with the “new” model of a community newspaper.

We thank you for your support and look forward to a great summer for all.

Peace & Love,
Cindy
