If you think Atlantic City is the only place in our area for dining and entertainment, think again. Ventnor has come alive during the past five years with hot, diverse dining spots along with fun, alternative activities to entertain young and old.

Ventnor Square Theatre and Nucky’s Bar is the dream of partners Brett Denafo, Clinton Bunting and Scott Kauffman. It has proven to be a tremendous success. They just celebrated their first anniversary on May 22. How many towns can say that they have a movie theatre, especially one that was brought to life by rejuvenating an historic building?

The partners discovered that the market for hometown cinema is still alive and well. They provide quality entertainment for people of all ages.

The Tru Golf experience at Club 313 virtually duplicates a round of golf at your favorite international course.

With the success of their first venture, Harbor Square Theatre in Stone Harbor, they sought to duplicate it by bringing the old Ventnor Theatre back to life. They not only brought it back, it is better than ever. Treat yourself to a night of entertainment.

Mr. Gordos Taqueria is the newest fine Mexican dining addition. Located at 5223 Ventnor Ave., on the same block as the theatre, it features 70 seats of dining inside, and 40 seats outside.

It is the creation of the Jersey Shore’s successful young entrepreneur, Robert “RJ” Idell. Robert is the proud owner of the thriving Drip ’N Scoop businesses, in Ocean City and Somers Point.

Mr. Gordos is a dream that Robert had to bring a modern Mexican taqueria to the area. The concept was to make authentic Mexican food from scratch, focused on bridging the gap between authentic Mexican and Tex Mex to introduce more people to the true cuisine. The response has been awesome in Ventnor.

If you want to golf and but don’t have five hours to kill, there’s no need to worry. Even if it’s raining or 98 degrees, Ventnor now has the perfect solution at Club 313, located at 313 Dorset Ave.

Santucci’s Original Square Pizza offers authentic Italian cuisine with everything from their famous square pizza to a full Italian and lite item menu.

I was totally impressed with the club-like atmosphere when I entered the Tru Golf location. I was pleasantly greeted by manager Morgan Mills, while member Scott Schaffer demonstrated the Tru Golf experience, which virtually duplicates a round of golf at your favorite international course.

The ultra-modern equipment gives golfers the ability to simulate a round while having their swing and speed analyzed.

The club is open seven days a week and grants 24/7 access to members. It has only been open a month, but owner Rick Rossetti is looking forward to filling a Tru Golf niche.

To say that Santucci’s Original Square Pizza offers the wow factor is an understatement. From the moment you enter the restaurant, you know you are in for an experience of truly authentic Italian cuisine, with everything from their famous square pizza to a full Italian and lite item menu.

You can enjoy your meal while dining in or on the spectacular upper deck and bar. There’s entertainment, too. They have live music all week, with karaoke on Thursday nights.

This great restaurant is the dream of Alicia Santucci and her family who are famous in the Philadelphia dining experience scene. You will think you are in DelRay Beach or Key West.

Lastly, those looking for casual dining should check out the North Beach Café. It’s fun dining for breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the corner of Little Rock and Atlantic. They are famous for outstanding breakfast, but offer great lunches, dinners, and ice cream. The North Beach area offers plenty of food alternatives.

Those looking for casual dining should try the North Beach Café at the corner of Little Rock and Atlantic. It’s open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

To sum it up, Ventnor is a great experience for the family or a nice date night. Come out and enjoy the New Ventnor.
