The Philadelphia Wind Symphony will present a program of Firsts and Favorites. The concert’s first half will include music of Lord of the Rings by Johann De Meij and the recently composed Love Among the Ruins by James Syler. NORTH BEACH BLOCK PARTY

Absecon Lighthouse, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, MADE Chocolate Bar, Ocean Casino Resort, Resorts Casino & Hotel, Showboat Atlantic City, Steel Pier, Tennessee Avenue Beer Hall and The Iron Room have united to spotlight the north end of the Atlantic City Boardwalk. The effort will kick off with a community-oriented Block Party outside of each participating entity on Thursday, June 20th followed by Music Row Mondays to kick off this Monday.

The Revivalists are a 7-piece rock band from New Orleans, founded in 2007. Last year, Atlantic City’s two newest properties, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Ocean Casino Resort, opened their doors within hours of each other. To commemorate one year open, the resorts will offer a collaborate firework show to celebrate with the public. The festivities will kick off the weekend of events on Thursday at 9:30pm. Visitors will be able to see the show throughout the North End of the city. Fireworks will be provided by The Gruccis.

FURRY BUDDIES

The “Furry Buddies” program visited the Atlantic County Library System/Galloway Township on Tuesday, June 11 to help kids with reading. The free program is open to kids ages 6 to 14. The therapy dogs, Cody, Erin or Freedom, love sharing stories with children. Come learn about the benefits of reading aloud to a therapy dog. The team will next meet at the Galloway Township branch on Tuesday, June 25 at 6:30 pm.
