Somers Point Good Old Days Festival

The Annual Somers Point Good Old Days Festival returns for its 41st year to say farewell to summer. There will be antique cars on display, carnival games, inflatables, a magician, pony rides, karate demonstrations, as well as K-9 demonstrations, over 20 vendors and community groups, food and treats including hot dogs and hamburgers fresh from the grill. Attendees will enjoy free live musical performances on two different stages throughout the day from noon – 6 p.m. The musical line-up will feature two local favorites, The Billy Walton Band and Hawkins Road.

“We are All Bozos on This Bus” Historic Bar Tour

The Somers Point Unique Experience Club is holding a historic bar tour of Somers Point on Sunday, September 9th.  The bus will leave from Gregory’s (900 Shore Road) parking lot a 11 30 a.m. and will stop at various bars in Somers Point before getting back to Gregory’s around 1:30 p.m. Seating is very limited.  Participants are asked to dress as clowns in keeping with the spirit of this adventure.

 During this tour the history of tavern, tap rooms, saloons, restaurants, speakeasies and other watering holes will highlighted.

The Brigantine Community Education Recreation will be hosting a trip to Israel, beginning in Tel Aviv with stops in Nazareth, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea, Jaffa, Latrun and more. JCC Trip to Israel

November 29th – December 9th

The Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center will be hosting a trip to Israel for Hanukkah. The trip begins with a two night stay in Tel Aviv where you will tour city sights, the Mediterranean coast and nearby city of Jaffa. The trip concludes with a five night stay in Jerusalem. Here, you will visit the Western Wall, The Israel Museum, Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial Museum, The Jewish and Christian Quarter and more. One day trip to The Dead Sea will also be included. Round-trip airfare from New York, nine nights’ accommodations and some meals included. Prices are $3,600 for double occupancy, $4,350 for single occupancy.
