at Somers Point show

The Somers Point Historical Society in collaboration with Tony Marts Presents hosted a very special event to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Eddie and the Cruisers at Gateway Playhouse on Saturday, April 22. Guests and attendees were treated to a special screening of the movie, filmed at Tony Marts in Somers Point and the South Jersey region, in addition to a live performance by Billy Walton and Destinee Monroe. Special guests included Michael “Tunes” Antunes (aka Wendall Newton) on saxophone and the vocals of David Wilson (aka Kenny Hopkins), both of whom performed stellar renditions of On the Dark Side and Tender Years. Walton and Tunes are slated to share the stage for a special Somers Point Beach concert this July 4.
