DistroFest brings music industry pros together at ACX1 Studios

By Ava Holly

Walk out on the Atlantic City Boardwalk near Ceasar’s and see the mall area. The sign is lit as you enter and pass the various stores.

Keep walking all the way back and there it is – the brand new ACX1 Studios brought to life by WHO?MAG co-founder and multimedia distribution mogul, Rob Schwartz.

WHO?MAG Distribution is a Grammy-winning brand encompassing DistroFest and Who?Mag TV. Rob’s brand is making moves across the country.

You can see Rob on Instagram with over 8,000 followers, Facebook with almost 7,000 followers and hear him speak at panels all over the country. Anyone that is familiar with this brand knows that Rob has what it takes to bring artists together on all platforms of music.

With the second installment of DistroFest, DistroFest 2, Rob put together a two-day event featuring hundreds of up and coming artists at the new ACX1 Studios. I had the opportunity to check out the hip-hop segment on Saturday evening. Everyone there was enjoying the show.

Rob made himself accessible to all while running backstage, back of house and enjoying some of the show himself. I even got a selfie with Rob, who has been on my radio shows and is always the most down-to-earth, pleasant soul.

I owe this awesome connection to my good friend Taina Speaks, president of DiBernardo Productions. Rob is such a great person to know and his ideas and determination are top notch.

At the event, there were a few vendors and always a table where you can get great gear like t-shirts, bags and water bottles, to name a few.

One of the exciting booths I saw was promoting the new internet domain extension, .HIPHOP (dot HIPHOP). I met the amazing Scott Pruitt and his team displaying this new way to promote your hip-hop website.

You can currently get a .HIPHOP domain for as low as $9.99 on GoDaddy, lowest prices around right now.

Scott shared some great information with me about how the domain choice is acquired and that anyone can get a .HIPHOP domain. Thank you, Scott, for taking the time to speak with me.

Also gracing the stage was producer, artist, actor, host and ambassador DTA  (Diamond the Artist). Diamond gave of his time to make all the artists shine.

He has worked with well-known entertainers including Beyonce, Prince and Kevin Hart to name a few. You can also catch DTA on the Sirius XM Radio Channel 43 where he hosts “Rock the Bells.”

DTA came from humble beginnings and credits his family as his inspiration. Find him on Instagram as well under DTAexperience where he has almost 17,000 followers. Go DTA!

All in all Rob and his team are the masterminds behind DistroFest. There are so many people involved in this collaboration of artists in one place.

Panelists at DistroFest included Joseph White, president of Marvel TV shows; Nicole Izanec, president of SAG/AFTRA Philly; Mark Frieser, CEO of SYNC Summit; and Michelle DiBernardo, president of the Syracuse International Film Festival. There were so many more with so much to offer anyone in the industry.

Hats off to Rob Schwartz for making Atlantic City his home for the artists. Check out the studio and reach out to Rob if you are in the biz.

From the security to the entertainment, Rob created a fun, safe environment for artists to be seen and heard.

Thanks Rob for continuing to move entertainment forward and for bringing it to life with ACX1 Studios in Atlantic City.
