Digital Photography Instruction October 5, 12, 19, 26

At the Somers Point Youth Center

Marks Road, just off Bethel Rd.

The Somers Point Arts Commission is presenting a free, four-session course for photographers who want better, more predictable images. They will learn the incredible capabilities of a digital camera system from an experienced professional. This course is for beginning photographers and for advanced amateur photographers in need of a refresher.  

These classes will be limited to 16 students, ages 18 and above. They are not for phone cameras. Session One on October 5th will cover Taking Control-The Mode Dial and Menu; Session Two on October 12th will be The Exposure Triangle; Session Three on October 19th covers Shooting Technique. The final session on October 26th will teach Light Control. Each session will be followed by a practical application exercise.

You will be asked to bring the following Equipment to class:

  • Digital camera with manual controls, fully charged battery, memory card
  • A flash with charged batteries (optional but recommended)
  • Your camera’s Operators Manual – can be accessed online if the booklet is not available. If possible, please bring a printed copy of your operator’s manual and familiarize yourself with it prior to this course.
  • Notebook, pen and/or pencil
