Copiers Plus: A Tale of Two Companies (or at least two divisions)

When my wife Debbie and I first started Copiers Plus in 1986, we really had no idea how fast the technology would change. After all, it was around that time when fax machines first started becoming popular. I recall many people asking me “what’s a Facsimile?”. We began by selling and servicing traditional black and white analog copiers with such fascinating features as automatic 2-sided copying, reduction and enlargement, automatic paper size selects and stapling. And believe it or not, electronic typewriters were still the word processors of choice.
Now here we are in 2019 and the machines are like something out of a science fiction movie compared to units back in the 80’s. We really don’t call them copiers anymore. They are now referred to as MFD’s or Multi-Functional Devices.
In addition, today’s machines represent an incredible value when you consider everything they are capable of…affordable full color printing on a wide variety of paper stocks, network printing and scanning functionality, and most importantly, all the application software available for improving business processes and workflows.
At Copiers Plus, we represent the award-winning lines of Ricoh/Lanier, Hewlett Packard and Samsung products. We handle everything from small home office models all the way up to high speed production units.
As great as these products are, they are only as good as the organization providing the service and support. And that’s where Copiers Plus excels. “Service truly is our Specialty”.
Copiers Plus Graphics and Printing Division
With the continued growth and expansion of our core business along with improvements in technology, we added a new copying and printing division in 2003. Currently headed up by our two sons Bob Jr. and Shane, this division is growing rapidly.
A four time “Best of the Press Award” recipient, we offer a wide-range list of commercial and personal printing services. Along with traditional items such as business cards, forms, and letterheads, we also provide graphic design and direct mail services. Most recently we have focused more on our large format offerings. Custom vehicle lettering and advertising wraps to signs, banners, and posters, along with blueprint and reprographic services.
What really sets us apart is that we use many of the products that we sell and lease in our equipment division to produce the work created in our copy/print centers. This enables us to become experts on the capabilities of all the products we represent.
Custom work is our specialty. I find this part of the business to be very rewarding. We can showcase our creativity with the various requests we receive, such as scanning and touching up original artwork, producing step and repeat banners, creating life-size cut-outs for special events as well as designing and wrapping lifeguard boats.
