“The Hot Shot Heard Round ‘The World,” a BearManor Media title, is the singular story of an extraordinary life deeply entrenched in the entertainment industry, hit recordings, disco nights and delights, hot jazz and the humbling experience of achieving fortune and fame coupled with losses and gains. The book yields mesmerizing, once-in-a-lifetime backstories of Andy’s personal and professional associations with everyone in the entertainment industry—from superstar performer Stevie Wonder and writer Norman Mailer to vocalist Astrud Gilberto, jazz bassist Charles Mingus, Princess Grace of Monaco, and actor Robert Preston.

Like the author, the book itself is a certifiable one-of-a-kind read. Reviews from both the music and the lay press alike have been unanimous in their praise. Legendary local broadcaster Jerry Blavat commented: “My main man Andy Kahn has kept them rockin’ and dancing in the aisles for almost 50 years with his swinging jazz piano, his legendary dance hit ‘Hot Shot’ and now with this book ‘The Hot Shot Heard ‘Round The World.’ ” And Lynne Abraham, former Philadelphia DA and Judge, also a major Andy Kahn fan, has called his book “an odyssey to marvel at.”

Andy Kahn, producer/composer of the number one dance hit “Hot Shot” is a jazz pianist, record producer and arranger, educator, vocalist, composer, businessman, music historian and archivist. He divides his time between residences in Philadelphia and Atlantic City and is the co-founder of The All-Star Jazz Trio—a swinging ensemble still going strong after close to 50 years, one of the longest-continuously-performing jazz groups in the nation. He continues to perform as a piano soloist and in a one-man show “Music By Intention” focusing on the history of The Great American Songbook. Andy also teaches jazz and improvisation to private students.
