AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach Ready to Roll in Somers Point

There’s something for everyone in the diverse 14 concert 28th Anniversary AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach Series in Somers Point this summer.

The free shows will feature Americana, country rock, Cajun, Celtic, zydeco, funk, New Orleans rhythm and blues, reggae and famous classic rock stars with some of the best tribute shows ever!

Famous headliners will include Gary US Bonds, one of the greatest rock stars still performing from the 50s to this very day; the living legend of Austin roadhouse rock, Kim Wilson, founder of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, that gave us Stevie Ray Vaughan; one of the greatest and most famous reggae bands on earth, Third World, performing their mega hit “Now That We Found Love” and many famous recordings; and two time Grammy award winning zydeco and world music recording stars, Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience.

Tribute shows will include The “Eagles Country” Tribute to the Eagles performed by The Tony  Mart Allstars; A tribute to Carlos Santana by Edgardo Cintron and his Allstar band, Inca; Rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame guitarist and producer of Johnny Winter, Paul Nelson performing a tribute to the Johnny Winter recordings he created; and one of the most memoriable concerts in the history of the series on Sunday, July 4, 2021, “Everybody Loves Ernie” a tribute to 10 classic rock guitarists performed by the Tony Mart Allstars and special guests, Billy Walton, Patti Blee and Danny Eyer in honor of “Ernie T” Trionfo.

There will be a special Mardi Gras party and tribute to the music of Dr. John, The Neville Brothers, The Meters, Allen Toussaint and Fats Domino performed by New Orleans’ favorite, John “Papa Gros Funk” on Labor Day Sunday, September 5 complete with beads!

The very best regional and Jersey artists will include the Billy Walton Band featuring our own Jersey Shore a rock and soul guitar hero, Billy Walton and very special guest Anthony Krizan, lead guitarist from The Spin Doctors; and the Dane Anthony Band one of the Northeast’s greatest party dance bands opening the series July 2nd.,

The renaissance season of the AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach begins Friday, July 2 for 12 consecutive Fridays through September 17 plus special holiday shows on Sunday, July 4 and Sunday, September 5

From the honor and respect we bestow upon our own “Ernie T” Trionfo from Minotola, New Jersey to the latest real, roots music stars from Austin, New Orleans, Tucson, New York and the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame coming to celebrate in Somers Point, it is all about the love we share with them and each other as we gather at the finest small town concert series anywhere!

As we party and play and respect one another we celebrate the historic living legacy of musicians from all over who came to perform during the summer in Somers Point. From Arkansas there was Levon Helm and Conway Twitty, from Canada, Robbie Robertson, from Rhode Island John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band with “Eddie & the Cruisers”, from Philadelphia, Bill Haley and his Comets, from Oklahoma, Duane Eddy and the Rebels. We have had them all in Somers Point from the 50’s through the 28th anniversary season of the AtlantiCare Concerts on the Beach in Somers Point. Come celebrate our living history in an exciting and sensuous way on the magical sands of the Somers Point Beach.
