Atlantic City’s Veterans Day Observance

There was a Veterans Day Observance held in Atlantic City City Hall Chambers on November 11th Veterans Day 2022 honoring those who served for their Bravery, Courage and Heroism.

The event was hosted by 3rd Ward City Councilman Kaleem Shabazz and attended by Veterans, Atlantic City Police and Fire Department.

Speakers included Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small Sr, Atlantic County Commissioner Ernest Coursey with an invocation presented by Reverend Eric McCoy, U.S. Marines Retired.

The Keynote Speaker was Hassan Abdur-Raheem U.S. Navy Retired, teacher and Atlantic City resident since 2008.

Mr Abdur-Raheem was also a musician in the Navy Band and while in Guam the band was involved in a plane crash that he survived and he was honorably discharged a short time after.

Today you might catch Hassan Abdur-Raheem performing with local musicians, Eddie Morgan, Angela Burton and others.
