Atlantic City’s “Buddy” Grover turned 94 years young on Monday, September 24th. Buddy has been serving as a volunteer lightkeeper at the top of the Absecon Lighthouse since 2009, and is beloved by residents of Atlantic County and lighthouse visitors.
Buddy greets visitors at the top of Absecon Lighthouse which he climbs 3 times at week. The Absecon Lighthouse is a located in the north end of Atlantic City, overlooking Absecon Inlet. At 171 feet it is the tallest lighthouse in the state of New Jersey and the third-tallest masonry lighthouse in the United States.
